Hey there! Thanks for dropping by 🙂
Well, as you can see at the pic above, this post is actually are my application on becoming as an Intern for a world-known bank, which is Standard Chartered 🙂
As from what I’ve known that, Standard Chartered SG is giving an awesome internship for one lucky youth, which is social media savvy, passionate of lot of things, and loves to learn! 🙂
So, here’s my stories also known as my application on becoming as an Intern for Standard Chartered SG!
I’m Muhammad Hafiz, a 16 years-old simple-living yet open-minded youth, who lives in a crib at Gombak, Selangor, Malaysia 🙂 I’m a youth who is very passionate about media, mass communication, social media, networking, youth, IT, music, and also environmental awareness 🙂
On the top of that, from what you can see above, I’m also a student cum prefect at a well-known school in Sentul, Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, which is SMK Batu Muda 🙂 This is the place, where I can networking with some awesome students, from different ages with different interests, experiences, and knowledge 🙂 Plus, this is also the place for me to gather opportunities to gain experience, learn knowledge, and expand myself into different IT based competitions.
Next is, the reasons why I’m deserved to become as an Intern for Standard Chartered 🙂 On 2009, I’ve become as a member for well-known social medias where you can get to know more about it, right here! Plus, social medias is the one which ignites my career in the real world and also because I know how to take advantage on using social medias 😀 So, on Facebook, I founded my first opportunity on my own, to networking with awesome youths outside of my crib, and school 🙂
My first opportunity was being as a volunteer for Malaysia’s Largest Youth Festival which is YOUTH’09!
Referring to the pic above, for the first time of my life, when I was 15, and because of my new journey in the Open Source World and also because of Facebook, I’ve participated as a delegate for the inaugural MSC Malaysia Open Source Conference 2009 🙂 This conference also introduced me to a new social media which is Twitter 🙂
And after that, on October 2009, thanks again to Facebook and Twitter, I’ve participated the 13th World Scout Jamboree on the Internet (JOTI), whereas the world base of the jamboree is at Geneva, Switzerland. And, my own base is my crib which is at Gombak, Selangor, Malaysia 😀 So, below are my participation certificate of the jamboree 🙂
The adventure still goes on after WSJOTI13 😀 So, on November 2009, I make myself well-known again because of my gifted mind from God on taking advantages of using social medias 😀 So, I became as a volunteer again! But this time, for a bigger event! 🙂
I’ve volunteered myself for the awesome South East Asia’s largest youth summit, which is the Youth Engagement Summit 2009 (YES2009) 😀 Because of this summit, I got myself to network with awesome youths like Khailee Ng, Michael Teoh and many more from all over SEA countries, under one awesome gathering of great minds! 🙂
Later on, I cool down for a while, and enjoy my so-call job which related to youth, which is moderating the largest South East Asia’s youth community known as YouthSays, where you can see my profile page below 🙂
The time goes on and on, and finally it’s 2010, hooray! 😀
So, after got through a lot of ups and downs, on May 2010, I embarked myself again! This time, is my 3rd time being as a volunteer 🙂
OK, from what you can see at the picture above, I’ve volunteered myself for the awesome Malaysia’s Largest Youth Lifestyle Festival – YOUTH’10 😀 And, from all of the things I’ve done, I finally given a chance to become as a community officer with YouthAsia, the company which organized YOUTH ’08, YOUTH’09 and YOUTH’10, and also the parent company of YouthSays and GroupsMore 🙂 During my working period, my tasks is to administrate all on-going activities in/of YouthSays Malaysia, which is to promote campaigns, kick spams/scams in the community, answer inquiries from the members on the fan page in Facebook, and also in the community itself, feature and un-feature questions by members in the community and last but not least, is to recruit youths to join as a member of the community where everything is done, just by using e-mails, Facebook and Twitter 😀 Experiences I’ve gained is, on how to communicate better with youths using social medias, how does a big community works, how to handle everything which goes to and fro of the community, how to solve problems experienced by members in the community, and also networking with youths! 🙂
So, on August 2010, I ended my career with YouthAsia as a community officer to administrate all on-going activities in/of YouthSays Malaysia. But, that doesn’t stop myself to find more opportunities in the real world 🙂
And after that, on the same month, I was invited to become as an invited observer partnering with one of the well-known youth leaders in Malaysia which is Michael Teoh, and also on-behalf of the Malaysia’s Ministry of Youth and Sports to the 2nd Global Model United Nations (GMUN) in our lovely country, Malaysia! 🙂 Below are the photo of me and Michael at the summit, and just ignore the imperfects! 😀
Later on after the summit, I grabbed 2 positions, which I’m currently becoming it right now, is one of the directors of Malaysian Youth Movement and Entrepreneurs(MYME) and also as a Language and Engagement Coordinator for TakingITGlobal. But, both of these positions is a voluntary job only, and not a paid one 🙂
Well, being as one of the directors of MYME, my task(s) is only to update new beneficial infos in the group on FB and also in the website 🙂
Being as a Language and Engagement Coordinator, which appointed by TakingITGlobal, the task(s) which assigned to me is, do the translation works from English to Malay and lead Malaysia’s translators team for a project named TIG Multilingual 🙂
On October 2010, I’ve participated for the 14th World Scout Jamboree on the Internet (JOTI) 😀 And the special thing is, I’ve been appointed as the official online translator to translate this year’s questionnaire from English to Malay for the jamboree by the World Organization of Scout Movement (WOSM) and UNICEF 😀 And below, are my participation certificate and also a letter, directly sent by the Secretary General of WOSM in Switzerland 🙂
Plus, my team and I, which some of the members are also the well-known youth leaders in Malaysia, are gonna organize a 1-day summit named TEDxYouth@KL 🙂 The summit will kick-starts on November 20th, 2010 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for the 1st time! We’re the pioneers who gonna make it happen! 😉 On the top of that, I become as the Organiser + Ambassador + Media & PR Director + Volunteers Coordinator + Graphic Designer for the event 😀 Below, are my pass for the summit! 🙂
Last but not least, thanks again to my favourite social medias, which is Facebook and Twitter, and also to all colleagues who I knew, and knew me, I’ve been selected as a candidate for One Young World Summit 2011 at Zurich, Switzerland 🙂 Below, are my profile in the website, and you can just click the picture below, as it will bring you directly to the website 🙂
So, from what I can conclude right here is, the reason(s) I’m the one who deserved the chance to win the internship is because, I know how to dig opportunities via social medias, I’ve experienced in doing works which related to social medias, I’m a student who currently learning subjects which kinda related to banking which is Principles of Accountancy and Basic Economics, I can easily mix with strangers, I’m kinda experienced with certain blogging/website systems like WordPress and Blogger, I’m kinda familiar with HTML coding, I’ve got networks to awesome youths from different interests like AIESEC and SIFE, and finally, I’m a youth who can juggle well between my life, my studies (education), my family, and also my works 🙂
Hereby I would like to thank all of who you dropped by, and I really appreciate to read your feedbacks 🙂
Imagine the POSSIBILITIES, Invest in CHANGE!
Muhammad Hafiz 🙂
